Digital Microblading, Powder Brows, Hairstrokes

Microblading, the most popular form of permanent makeup, is a fancy name for an eyebrow tattoo with a manual tool. Instead of the super shaded or filled in brows this technique simulates individual hair strokes for a natural look. Cosmetic tattoo artists use a super fine pen to deposit pigment directly under the skin or use a digital machine to recreate beautiful hair strokes or a natural ” pixilated” powder fill. You may also hear names like brow feathering, microshading, ombre brow, powder brow, digital microblading, hybrid brow –new names pop up everyday.   We use a digital machine on most all brows.

Who does it work for?

If filling in your brows is a crucial part of your beauty routine, you might want to look into permanent makeup.  Powder brows add a very natural fill behind existing hair and can be filled in more closely to be less powdery.   To its credit, the procedure is dermatologist-approved, its not for people with oily skin or large pores, People with oily skin won’t heal with the crisp strokes you need to achieve a natural look, as the pigment does not stay in the skin very well.  We can also add fine hair strokes to the powder brow.  All permanent makeup procedures only looks great when you can heal properly to achieve fine details of the natural look.  Following your after-care instructions in detail is super important and may require a temporary lifestyle change as your brows heal.

How long does it last?

Like any tattoo, permanent makeup does fade over time. Expect to return to after 12 to 18 months for a color boost touch-up. Exactly when to come back is up to you: The pigments are designed to slowly fade over time, so it’s a personal preference when to come in for maintenance once the color starts to lose concentration.

Some people fade a little bit and they want more; others let it almost all fade out before they come back.  At a retouch appointment, color will be added to the existing work.

What are the potential risks?

Infection is a potential risk for any permanent makeup tattoo (as well as just about any type of body tattoo). With all of these, we are opening the skin and blood-borne pathogens can be spread, so you want to make sure all tools are sterile and disposable, and facility is licensed and state inspected.  We will open the single use sterilized needle in front of you.  Infection can also occur if clients don’t follow the proper aftercare, this is super important, which means keeping the area dry and staying out of the sun for about 10 days, a list of aftercare instructions will be given, along with aftercare ointment.   We will schedule a follow-up appointment after eight to ten weeks or so to add in any pigment if needed, some people like to go a bit darker or no touch up is needed at all.

Permanent Eyeliner

Eyeliner done with permanent makeup will sit within the lash line a may be super thin or a little thicker and will  give the appearance of fuller lashes.    The lash enhancement sits within the lash line for a more subtle, natural look.

Who is permanent eyeliner for ?   The person who always works out in mascara and refuses to leave home without their eyeliner or someone who cannot do their eyeliner because of sight or just doesn’t have a steady hand, or  finds their eyeliner doesn’t stay on or is all over by the end of the day.

Scar Camouflage

Scar camouflage is a cosmetic tattoo on the skin with flesh-colored pigment to mask a scar. The most well-known use is for cosmetic surgery scars although most any scar can be covered.  Requires a consultation.   Works well with scars lighter than their natural skin color.

Freckle tattoos

Would you like a fun beauty mark or light freckle ?  Most clients return for a touch-up after a year or two, depending on both how quickly the freckles fade and how dark they want the freckles to be. Skin-care products speed up the fading process, so expect to go back for maintenance appointments or let the tattoos fade entirely.

You must be a candidate for Permanent Makeup just like anything else.

Before making an appointment a photo of area without makeup is required.
